Back Up Your Photos via a USB Cable or SD Card Reader on Mac

If you keep a large number of photos on your Eyefi Mobi card, you may wish to back up your photos to make room for more of them. However, due to the way Eyefi Mobi cards mark photos as "transferred," you will need to perform that backup via USB cable or an SD card reader.

There may be situations where you are unable to wirelessly transfer photos from your Eyefi Mobi card; you may be having problems with your phone or tablet, your computer may not allow wireless transfers from your Eyefi Mobi card, or you may have shot photos in RAW. Manually back up your Photos

To manually transfer photos to your computer via a USB cable, follow these steps:

  1. Attach your USB cable to your camera
  2. Insert your USB cable into your computer
  3. Turn your camera on
  4. iPhoto or Image Capture will open automatically once your Mac detects your camera
  5. Import photos from iPhoto by selecting the photos you would like to import and pressing the Import Selected button
    OR
    Import photos from Image Capture by selecting the photos you would like to import and pressing the Import Selected button

To manually transfer photos to your computer via an SD card reader, follow these steps:

  1. Insert your Eyefi Mobi card into your SD card reader
  2. Open Finder
  3. Click on your Eyefi Mobi card listed in the left navigation menu under Devices
    NOTE: Your Eyefi Mobi card may be named after your camera model if you've formatted the card in your camera
  4. Open the folder named DCIM
  5. Open the folder for your camera (if you have multiple cameras, your Eyefi Mobi card will create a folder for each one)
  6. Select the photos you wish to move and either copy and paste or drag them to a destination folder of your choice
